A big anouncement
Cccseattle

As we have embarked on the incredible journey of launching CCC, it has been amazing to experience God’s faithfulness. Time and time again, we have seen God do things that we couldn’t possibly do. Even as I write this, Cristina and I are packing our house to move to the Central District, where God has provided a place closer to the city, the church, and the community we feel called to serve. Brian and Mackenzie Byersdorf are doing the same. Within a week’s time, both of our families found housing 15 minutes walking distance from each other. If you are in the rental market, you know how much of a miracle that is! I could go on and on about how faithful God has been. I won’t say that it’s been easy, but the joy that comes with following Jesus, with no assumption of His will, is worth every bit of pain and trial we go through. We are growing a lot through this process and I know we have a ways to go.

All along the way, we have prayerfully set goals in launching CCC, always allowing God to change any plans we have. We trust the wisdom found in Proverbs 16:9: “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” With that being said, our initial plan has been to start weekly services October 5, 2014. That has changed. As we have gathered monthly this summer, we felt that our weekly launch might come sooner. With much prayer and discussion, the Thursday before last, our team of elders unanimously voted to begin weekly meetings sooner than originally planned. We were sensing this was God’s plan for us, and to wait another month felt too long. We are beginning to form as a new faith family, and to not be together on a more regular basis has begun to feel odd.

Therefore, starting September 7, 2014 we will begin meeting weekly as a church! This is very exciting because it allows us to feel a continued sense of calling and mission together, as well as invite people into our growing church family on a more regular basis. On September 7th we will finish up our series on the “3C’s”, and the topic will be “The Great Commission”. On September 14th, we will begin a series on the Gospel of John, which is one of the most simple, but weighty books on who Jesus is and what can truly happen when we trust him with all of who we are. I can’t think of a better foundation to build our community upon.

We can’t wait to see you on September 7th, and now the weeks to follow. Don’t forget to plan for our picnic and baptism after next week’s service. If you have any questions, please reach out to us. Also, please continue to pray for God to do the impossible with our community and in our city. Can’t wait to see what’s next for us!
